Thanks to Big City Music there is a demo video of the new Malekko produced Wiard Boogie Filter. This is the filter I purchased to be the centerstone of my new modular, it should be here this week. The boogie filter was designed by Grant Wiard, who builds the ever-dreamy Wiard Modular. Grant has licensed out a number of his designs for the popular “Euro” format. In addition to the Boogie Filter, Malekko Heavy Industry also offers Wiard’s Borg filter. Wiard’s “Wogglebug” (a very advanced random voltage generator) is being produced by MakeNoise.

The Boogie Filter itself is a low-pass ladder style filter with multiple slopes whose individual outputs are out of phase. When mixed, as evidenced below, a variety of different filter effects can be achieved.

Here’s a pic, dats guitarist/bassist extraordinaire Mikhail Morales shot,  of my newish Analogue Solutions Concussor modular. I’m really smitten with this instrument, especially the George Duke in 1974-esque leads and basses. Below it is the super-rare RMI 600, which is in dire need of a legitimate tuning.
